Cartoon Character Head Sketches

Having some fun doing different versions of the same guy kinda pretty much in the one collage. My former instructor David Colman said it would be a nice portfolio piece. Definitely include it he said. David has worked for like Sony Animation studios and those kind of Large budgeted animation studios. I took character design classes from him.

In this exercise, I made abstract shapes first and then drew character's heads on top. You can also use geometric shapes to build characters. There are other ways also I learned from character design school. All are pretty effective ways.

In the other head collage, I was just doing stuff out of my imagination on 11 by 17 canvas. Added a little grey tone and white in the eyes to make things pop.
